A custom magnet is an individually cut piece of vinyl that is transferred onto a flexible, permanent magnetic film. A permanent magnet does not lose its magnetic properties and does not need to be charged to be magnetic. This means you can use it as long and as often as you like.
You can create your own magnets to sell by printing your own design onto it, creating any shape you can think of and selecting effect materials.

How we make custom magnets
The custom magnet manufacturing process is very similar to how we make stickers and labels.
We start off by printing your custom design onto your material of choice using our start-of-the-art HP Indigo press to create incredible details and the best possible print quality.
Then, we turn your design into a magnet by transferring it onto a flexible magnetic sheet. We use a so-called ferrite isotopic compound magnetic sheet to create custom magnets. This is a fancy way of saying that we are working with a permanent ceramic magnet that can easily be cut into any shape.
After transferring your design onto the magnetic sheet, we add a clear laminate to protect your print from scratches and water and give it some extra shine.

- The vinyl-based material you choose.
- Instead of a sticky backing, your design will be transferred onto a magnetic sheet.
Preparing your artwork for custom magnets
If you want to design custom magnets, you do not have to prepare your artwork in a special, magnet-friendly way. Simply make sure that you:
- Submit a high-resolution design, ideally a vector
- Convert your fonts to outlines
- Select CMYK for your colours
- Create white layers (where needed)
- Add a custom cutline (if you want)
- Export your artwork correctly (when using Canva or other online tools)
Following this list means you are submitting print-ready artwork. This makes it much easier for our designers to create your free design proof, which, in turn, speeds up the reviewing process and allows us to start manufacturing your magnets faster.

How thick are your magnets?
The magnetic sheet we use is 0.4 mm thin. We combine that with our white vinyl material and a clear laminate which add 0.07 mm in thickness.
How strong are these magnets?
The magnets we use have a strength of 25g/cm².
Are magnets waterproof?
Yes, custom magnets are printed onto waterproof vinyl materials and laminated with a clear gloss film that makes them resistant to scratches, water and UV light. Water will also not interfere with its magnetic properties because we use a permanent magnetic material.
What can I put magnets on?
Custom magnets can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. You can put them on metal surfaces such as refrigerators, filing cabinets, lockers, whiteboards or even cars. With a strong magnet backing, you don't have to worry about the magnet sliding off no matter what surface you use it on.
